New friend and doggy jail

Last night, our friends Nick and Mary came over with the newest member of their family, Phyliss, a 1 year old female daschund that they recently adopted from the shelter and named after their favorite character from "The Office". I immediately hit it off with her and we played and she tried to show her dominance over me by humping me. (For the record, I don't play for that team!) My sister, Sprinkles, however, did NOT hit it off with Phyliss. At first daddy thought it was Sprinkles who was causing the dispute but after Sprinkles spent some time in doggy jail (a.k.a. the crate) she came out and we found out it really was Phyliss who started the growling and nipping. Sprinkles was just standing her ground and sticking up for herself. After all, this is HER castle, not Phyliss's. Or as Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, would say, "Sprinkles is the pack leader of our house." I actually thought Sprinkles was gonna EAT Phyliss when they were going at it. Daddy had to pull Sprinkles back and I think she had a bit of a nervous breakdown feeling so threatened by another dog. I felt so sorry for Sprinkles while she was in jail that I went into my crate and waited for her to do her time and get out. That's what sisters do for each other. I'm not sure we will be having another play date with Phyliss again.
